This course provides executive students with a fundamental understanding of manufacturing and service operations and their roles in shaping a company’s business strategy. Managing the underlying processes by which firms create and deliver value is at the heart of the operations function in every line of business. The efficacy of these processes provides a crucial source of competitive advantage. This course focuses on how to do this well. The course uses the case- method with cases drawn from a broad array of industries, including financial services, government, healthcare, hospitality, professional services, restaurants, retail, and transportation.
