Organizations face increasing competition from rivals across the globe. In order to effectively respond to these threats, managers within these organizations must have skills at the intersection of design, operations, marketing, and technology so that they are able to effectively develop, market, and deliver successful new products to customers.

This certificate would provide an opportunity for potential product managers to i) develop competitive analysis and critical thinking skills, ii) acquire essential skills needed to develop, deliver, and market a product, iii) improve the way they intelligently communicate their product-related recommendations to other stakeholders, and iv) position themselves to pursue a career path in product management.

The curriculum for the certificate program in Product Management is a subset of courses currently offered to the MBA and open to other Master’s programs, thus potentially allowing students the option to subsequently apply to and enroll in these programs.

Applicants to the Certificate program must possess or be in the final term of a 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (or the equivalent degree in a foreign country).

Students interested in continuing their education and obtaining an MBA or MS degree at the Zicklin School of Business will have to apply to and be admitted into these programs separately. Completed Advanced Certificate courses carry graduate-level credits that may later be transferred to any of the Zicklin Masters Level programs when applicable and appropriate.

Students must take and satisfactorily complete four graduate-level courses (twelve credits) by taking [1] one entrepreneurship (ENT) course, [2] one operations management (OM) course, [3] one marketing (MKT) course, and [4] one Information systems and statistics (CIS) course, all from the course options listed below. The Advanced Certificate in Product Management is awarded to students upon completion of these courses with a minimum grade point average of 2.7. Requirements must be completed within three calendar years of enrollment in the Certificate program.

Completed Certificate courses carry graduate-level credits that may later be transferred to any of the Zicklin Masters Level programs when applicable and appropriate. These programs require students maintain a minimum average GPA of 3.0 to be in good academic standing and to graduate.
